Persians don't have sauces

That's true. Persian cuisine does not have an official sauce. Persian cuisine is predominantly stews served with rice in a rich and and flavorful sauce made through hours of cooking the ingredients and spices together. That was our original inspiration but reimagine through OUR culinary creativity.

Art doesn’t stay still. It evolves when cultures mix, reinterpret and create something that didn’t exist before.

Take Persian rap. Rap wasn’t born in Iran, yet Persian artists took the genre, infused it with Persian language, their stories, rhythms and identities and created something entirely new. It made Persian music more diverse, more accessible, and introduced Persian culture to listeners who may not speak a word of Farsi. When Persian artists collaborate across cultures, something even more exciting happens: new sounds emerge that belong entirely to neither culture, but to both.

That’s our approach to Leemu.

Leemu sauces are our modern interpretation of traditional Persian cuisine. So when we hear, “Persians don’t have sauces,” we ask: Did Persians have rap music?

Culture isn’t a museum exhibit. It grows.

By reimagining Persian flavors in a format that is simple, familiar, and easy to use, we’re inviting everyone to experience the vibrant and beautiful Persian culture, whether they speak Farsi or not.

The new iteration opens up the door and invites everyone to take a peak. Even if it is not traditional Persian, just like Persian rap, creative, gutsy and controversial.
